China Eastern Crash Investigation Revisited as Experts Re-examine Cockpit Switch Data
The latest information disclosed by the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) indicates that the fatal accident in 2022, involving China Eastern flight MU5735, which claimed the lives of 132 passengers on board, could have been planned. The black box analysis showed that the switches controlling fuel supply to both engines had been manually shifted to 'cut off' while the plane was flying at 29,000 feet, resulting in an abrupt descent to the ground due to engine failure. Although the Chinese government has repeatedly denied speculations about suicide among pilots and refused to release the official investigation report citing national security reasons, it can now be reasonably concluded that the event occurred with malice aforethought.
